Overview
Nortec AIRFOG systems use the nozzle humidification technology of injecting droplets of cold water into the air. Nortec manufactures the AIRFOG in two different categories. The first category is modular systems that require engineering and component assembly. The second category is self-contained and both categories require connection to electrical power, water and compressed air. This method of humidification has these advantages over steam humidification:
1. Changing components is quick and requires minimal disassembly.
2. Maintenance is focused on keeping the air compressor operational.
3. No cost air cooling benefit due to latent heat of vaporization extracting heat from the air.
4. Lower frequency of maintenance.
5. Systems are mainly mechanical with only 24 Vac power requirements in the control panel.

Maintenance
Required services consist of nozzle adjustments, pipe joint leak repair, spare part replacement, cleaning operations, or repairs that require full repair kits. Nozzle cleaning is recommended at least once a year and consists of gently scraping deposits with a brush or steel wool. Most probable maintenance issues include:
1. The accumulation of dirt and minerals in and around the nozzle.
2. Air and water leaks that may be due to marginal workmanship during installation but not obvious until many hours of operation.
