The NHMC is an atmospheric steam generator that uses heat generated by electrical current flowing between submerged electrodes to generate heat and steam. The NHMC is designed for air humidification via steam distributor, blower pack, or steam manifold (SAM-e).
The Nortec electrode humidifier maintains full output capacity for the full life of the cylinder. As minerals build up on the electrodes in the cylinder, the control algorithm automatically raises the water level slightly in the cylinder. This exposes fresh electrode surface to water and maintains peak output and efficiency from the humidifier. Once the electrode surface is insulated with mineral buildup and the operating water level raises to touch the high water level sensor, the user is alerted to replace the cylinder. In normal conditions, the disposable cylinders must be replaced after one year (or 2500 hours of operation). They must be replaced immediately, even before the specified intervals if any anomalies occur. Typical tank life is anywhere from 3 to 12 months, dependant upon water quality.
